Eligibility Criteria: A refugee is defined as someone who is outside their home country and unable or unwilling to return due to a well-founded fear of persecution based on race, religion, nationality, political opinion, or membership in a particular social group. This category includes individuals who, if they return to their home country, would face a risk to their life or face cruel and unusual treatment or punishment.
Government and Support Services: Refugees receive initial settlement assistance upon arrival, including housing, language training, and help finding employment.Access to healthcare services is provided through the Interim Federal Health Program (IFHP).Various organizations and community groups across Canada offer support for refugees to adapt and integrate into Canadian society.
